CertainTeed Master Craftsman

Affordable Roofing Systems is a CertainTeed Master Craftsman — a credential earned through demonstrated expertise, training, and a proven track record of quality installations. This designation gives us access to CertainTeed's premium product lines and extended warranty programs that aren't available to every contractor.

CertainTeed's Landmark series architectural shingles are our most popular choice. They feature a dimensional wood-shake appearance, a Class A fire rating (the highest available), and wind resistance ratings up to 110 mph. With a wide range of colors and styles, they complement any home design.

Because of our Master Craftsman status, we can offer CertainTeed's SureStart Plus warranty — which provides 100% coverage on materials and labor for the first years of your roof's life, plus extended material coverage beyond that.

Owens Corning

We also install Owens Corning roofing systems for homeowners who prefer that brand. Owens Corning's Duration series shingles offer exceptional wind resistance with their patented SureNail Technology — a tough, engineered fabric strip in the nailing area that provides outstanding grip and blow-off resistance.

Like CertainTeed, Owens Corning shingles carry a UL Class A fire rating and come in a variety of colors designed to enhance your home's curb appeal. We'll help you choose the right product and color to match your home and your budget.

A Complete Roofing System

A roof is more than just shingles. Every component works together to protect your home. Here's what goes into every Affordable Roofing Systems installation:

Synthetic Underlayment

High-quality synthetic felt covers the entire deck, providing a waterproof barrier beneath the shingles. It's more durable and tear-resistant than traditional felt paper.

Ice & Water Shield

Self-adhering membrane installed when your roof's slope requires it or when your city requires it in the valleys. It creates a watertight seal even if water gets under the shingles.

New Flashings

Custom-fabricated sheet metal flashings around chimneys, walls, and roof transitions. We bend our own metal on-site for a precise, watertight fit at every junction.

Ventilation

Proper attic ventilation extends shingle life and reduces energy costs. We assess your home's existing ventilation and replace or upgrade vents as needed — ridge vents are available but not something we install on every home.

Lead Pipe Jacks

Heavy-duty lead pipe jacks around plumbing vents that won't crack or deteriorate like rubber alternatives. Lead conforms perfectly and lasts the full life of the roof.

Drip Edge

Metal drip edge along the eaves and rakes directs water away from the fascia and into the gutters, preventing wood rot and water damage at the roof's edges.

Flat Roof Solutions

Not every roof has a steep slope. For flat and low-slope roofs, we install TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) membrane roofing — a single-ply, heat-welded system designed specifically for flat surfaces. TPO reflects UV rays, resists punctures, and creates a seamless, watertight barrier across the entire roof surface. It's the go-to solution for covered patios, garage extensions, and commercial-style flat sections on residential properties.

If your home has a flat roof section that needs attention, give us a call — we'll walk you through the options and provide a custom quote.

Need a different roofing material? We work with a wide range of styles — give us a call and we'll point you in the right direction.

UL Class A Fire Rating

Every shingle we install carries a UL Class A fire rating — the highest classification available. This means the roofing material is effective against severe fire exposure, providing critical protection for your home and family. In fire-prone areas of the Bay Area, this isn't just a feature — it's essential.
